LPAC Announces 2012/2013 Arts for Youth Educational Performances
Enhancing Education through the Arts
“Cultivation of the arts is an essential element of our community,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “As such, the City of Lancaster is working hand-in-hand with the Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation in supporting our community’s youth by exposing them to the performing arts.”
The Arts for Youth program is an integral part of the mission of LPAC, as well as the premier performing arts education program available to students of the community. In an effort to balance and supplement the loss of arts education in our schools, LPAC, with its non-profit partner, The Lancaster Performing Arts Center Foundation, has made a pledge to support educators and parents with low-cost admission prices of $4.00 per student.
Each Arts for Youth Season is filled with educational shows and workshops which meet the California Content Standards for high-quality education. This enables educators to further enhance their curriculum and integrate the performing arts into their lesson plans by providing curriculum-based study guides, thus engaging the classroom in the creative and imaginative process.
