The BLVD Tranformation Project reaches Lancaster Performing Arts Center
The BLVD Transformation Project, a substantial effort by the City of Lancaster to revitalize Lancaster Boulevard and the surrounding downtown area, has now reached the Lancaster Performing Arts Center (LPAC). As a result, the sidewalks leading up to the LPAC exterior Box Office windows will be intermittently closed throughout the summer months. As a part of Phase II of this Project, Lancaster Boulevard, from Date Avenue to Fig Avenue, will also be closed.

 LATEST CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
As of Friday, August 27th
:

Please be advised of the following temporary closures.  The intersection of Lancaster BLVD and Gadsden Avenue will be closed Monday, August 30 through Monday, September 6th to demo the intersection and pull utilities through.

Lancaster BLVD from Date to Elm Avenues in the westbound lane will be closed 6am-4pm from August 26 to September 3 to allow a crane to bring steel beams to the new Museum & Art Gallery.

Please be aware of the flagmen working on this project.  You can reach the LPAC off of Fern Ave from either Newgrove or Avenue J.

HOW THIS IMPACTS LPAC PATRONS

For those patrons who prefer to purchase their tickets in person, LPAC has opened its interior Box Office windows and invites patrons to enter through the rear entrance of the LPAC. The best way to enter the LPAC parking lot is from Fern Avenue. To ensure patrons find their way in and around the LPAC, large banners are displayed on the exterior of the building.  There are also guide-friendly signs throughout the theater lobby.

For patrons visiting the LPAC for a show during this period of transformation, we encourage patrons to utilize the same parking lot entrance and rear entrance door. Whereas the LPAC parking lot will be limited by the construction, we encourage patrons to plan to utilize the public parking areas throughout the downtown area. LPAC’s always friendly and helpful volunteer ushers will be available to further assist patrons upon their arrival.

Since this phase of the BLVD Transformation Project is occurring as pre-season sales get under way for the LPAC’s 2010/11 Performance Season, LPAC will waive the $4 handling fee for orders placed over the phone or via LPAC’s website, LPAC.org. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 and this special offer is limited to this second phase of the BLVD Transformation Project.

For more information, directions, or to purchase tickets, you may call the LPAC Box Office at (661) 723-5950.
